Services

Where I come in

Strategy, change and leadership are intertwined. I work where decisions are made and implementation begins – with leadership teams, with individual leaders and with the organization as a whole.

Change & transformation

Steering complex, often global change processes: from strategy through to implementation, across sites and continents.

Questions at the starting line

  • How can we build a shared sense of “us” across three continents?
  • How do we shape a post-merger integration that brings our people along?
  • How do we support our leaders in becoming co-creators of the transformation?
  • Process consulting
  • Workshops
  • Facilitation

Leadership

Strengthening leaders and teams so that they remain able to act together under uncertainty: in coaching, in the team, in a programme.

Questions at the starting line

  • How do I translate the company strategy into my own leadership practice?
  • How do I lead my area into the new structure?
  • How do I address a simmering conflict in my team?
  • Executive coaching
  • Team development
  • Leadership development

Strategy with executive teams

Creating clarity with global top executive teams, deciding together and giving the organization direction.

Questions at the starting line

  • Where are the most powerful levers for implementing our strategy?
  • How do we, as a leadership team, make the necessary decisions together?
  • How do we meaningfully involve our partners in Asia and the headquarters in the US?
  • Strategy work
  • Executive team coaching
  • Stakeholder analysis

Approach

When the plan meets the organization.

The goals are sound, the potential has been calculated – and then the process stalls. As a Host of Transformative Spaces, I create spaces in which the unexpected is not merely endured but put to productive use.

Change then emerges not as a rigid plan but as a living, iterative process: direction and self-organization working together.

Christina Janssen in conversation at her desk
  1. Diagnosis

A systemic diagnosis of the specific situation: Where are tensions building up? What is blocking movement? What wants to emerge?

  2. Opening spaces

Different perspectives, ambiguities and tensions can be voiced and put to productive use. The process begins to flow again.

  3. Steering and accompanying

I advise, steer and facilitate, whatever the process needs. Tailored, co-created and designed so that the aims of the change can already be experienced.

„Unlocking the intelligence within the system.“

Project examples

Three assignments, three starting points.

A selection of recent projects I have supported as a systemic consultant.

01 · Manufacturing company

Post-merger integration

Top management and senior leadership team

Situation
Former competitors are expected to pull together as one team. But structures and processes are misaligned at every turn.
The question behind it
How can we grow together without losing the strengths we each bring?
Approach
Workshops vertically with top management and horizontally with the senior leadership team, complemented by individual coaching for the workstream leads.

02 · Automotive industry

Strategy work after a change of ownership

Leadership team of a plant

Situation
Within a few weeks everything changed: new owners, new plant leadership, new targets. Within the leadership team, very different views of the situation.
The question behind it
How can we speak with one voice now and give the organization the direction it needs?
Approach
A joint analysis of the stakeholder landscape, clarifying expectations with the new plant leadership, and jointly making sense of signals from the wider environment.

03 · Global high-tech company

Leadership development

18-month programme, executive board and leaders

Situation
The market is changing at speed and the organization keeps adapting. Leaders need to remain able to act amid this complexity.
The question behind it
How do we balance local delivery with being “one global company”?
Approach
A programme built around real business challenges, co-created with the client: dialogue sessions with the executive board, online modules, regional in-person days on participants’ own cases, peer groups.

Portrait of Christina Janssen

Christina Janssen · Systemic organization consultant

For 30 years I have been exploring how organizations grow into what comes next – as a leader and as a consultant. Leading a consulting firm and managing at the United Nations, I have navigated conflicting expectations myself.

For 17 years I looked at Europe from the outside in – from the US, India and Latin America – immersed in local offices and steering global processes from different corners of the world. It sharpens the eye for cultural dynamics and for change under demanding conditions.
